Bloomberg agency Editor-in-Chief John Micklethwait:
“We will continue our tradition of not investigating Mike (and his family and foundation) and we will extend the same policy to his rivals in the Democratic primaries. We cannot treat Mike’s democratic competitors differently from him”.
What makes this situation ever more Orwellian is that the Poynter Institute, after being entrusted with the monumentous task of policing fake news on Facebook, is completely silent — not even a tweet.
Bloomberg is a monstrosity in financial news, and arguably a public utility at this point. Practically every banker on Wall Street relies on Bloomberg Terminal as their primary source of financial news.
You’d think they would be just jumping at the opportunity to redeem themselves after the pubic relations nightmare that ensued following the publication of their extremely biased list of fake news websites. It was so bad that they were even forced to shut down the page and issue a public apology, but you can still view the archived version here (reload if it doesn’t work the first time).
